Many people in that region suffer from Glaucoma. Often children are affected and can not go to school because they can’t get the necessary operation. Or older people lose their independence because they see insufficient.
Most patients can not afford treatment without help. That’s why the Salvation Army in Wiamoase is currently building a new and modern eye clinic next to it’s existing maternity clinic. (see chapter 2.4 Camp location)
There, patients will be able to get treatment for little money. Specialists are paid by the state, but the construction and maintenance of the clinic are financed by the Salvation Army.
This project has made progress in the last year and is nearing completion, thanks also due to one big donation from a catholic parish in Switzerland.
If we receive more money for the music camp than is needed in the end, the money will be fully invested in equipment for the eye clinic.
